In Spanish // "Carlos Alberto Leumann, born on August 17, 1886, in Santa Fe, Argentina, was a distinguished poet, essayist, and educator. Orphaned of his mother at the tender age of six, he was raised by a strict Protestant father who disapproved of his literary pursuits. Demonstrating early academic prowess, Leumann graduated from the University of Buenos Aires at seventeen, subsequently embarking on a career as a professor of literature. In 1916, he assumed the role of editor-in-chief for â¤La Notaâ¤, a literary magazine founded by Emin Arslan, marking his initial foray into literary journalism. His literary oeuvre encompasses a diverse range of genres, including poetry, novels, and essays. Notable works include â¤El libro de la duda y los cantos ingenuos⤠(1909), â¤Adriana Zumarán⤠(1921), and â¤Los gauchos a pie⤠(1938).Leumannâ¤s contributions extended beyond authorship; he directed the literary supplement of the newspaper â¤La Nación⤠and was a founding member of the Sociedad Argentina de Escritores (SADE). In 1936, he married Adriana Piquet, daughter of Julio Piquet, director of â¤La Naciónâ¤, though the couple had no children. His literary acclaim was further cemented with the publication of â¤La vida victoriosa⤠(1922), a novel that garnered particular praise from English critics. Leumannâ¤s works often delved into metaphysical themes and offered profound reflections on Argentine society and culture." â¤Wikipedia // .Argentine literature History and criticism, Criticism, interpretation, etc, Gaucho-Literatur, Gauchos dans la littérature, Gauchos in literature, Geschichte, Littérature argentine Histoire et critique, Littérature uruguayenne Histoire et critique, Uruguayan literature, Uruguayan literature History and criticism., Raigal, 1953, 1.5, paperback.
